Account and dashboardStep-by-step guide

Read hosting storage and analytics usage

Understand disk allocation, mailbox reservations, website usage, and provisioning error logs.

Quick answer

Analytics and hosting resource panels show the storage available to a hosting service, the amount used by files, and the amount reserved for mailboxes. These values help you decide when to clear mail, change mailbox quotas, or add storage.

How to do it

  1. 1

    Open Analytics

Choose Analytics & Performance from the dashboard sidebar.

  2. 2

    Read the storage figures

Compare used, allocated, reserved, and unallocated storage. Values are labeled in MB or GB.

  3. 3

    Review service activity

Use the activity records to match a usage change to mailbox creation, quota changes, website setup, or storage add-ons.

  4. 4

    Download an error log

Download the plain-text provisioning log when a provider action needs support review.

Frequently asked questions

Why is allocated storage different from used storage?

Allocated storage is reserved for mailboxes or services; used storage is the space currently consumed by files and messages.

When should I buy more storage?

Add storage when the available amount is too low for new mailboxes or website files, or when the dashboard reports an allocation limit.

Why can storage look available but a mailbox still fail?

The service may have shared space reserved for existing mailboxes, or the latest provider measurement may still be Processing. Check the allocation and activity records, then retry after the worker finishes.
