Use a pending domain and preview website
Understand what you can prepare before domain activation and why email must wait for the domain to go live.
Quick answer
A paid hosting service can be assigned to a purchased or connected domain while registration is Processing. Pavwell can prepare the website and provide a temporary preview URL, but public traffic and email delivery require domain activation and DNS propagation.
How to do it
- 1
Assign the pending domain
Open Web & Hosting and select the purchased or connected domain for the hosting service.
- 2
Wait for hosting preparation
The dashboard shows the hosting service and website as Processing while setup runs.
- 3
Open the preview URL
Use Preview website to test a coming-soon page or uploaded files before the real domain is live.
- 4
Wait for activation
The domain worker checks supported registries and DNS status, then completes public DNS, SSL, and mail setup after activation.

Frequently asked questions
Can visitors use the real domain while it is pending?
No. The temporary preview is for setup and testing. The real domain works after registration, DNS, and certificates are complete.
Can I create mailboxes while the domain is pending?
Mailbox setup waits for domain activation and mail DNS readiness so messages can be delivered securely.
What exactly becomes available when the domain activates?
The domain moves to Active, DNS and nameserver work can complete, and the activation email is sent once. A web-hosting plan can then finish its public-domain and certificate handoff; email mailboxes become deliverable after mail DNS and mailbox setup are ready.
